The forecast was calling for 6-8 inches of snow north of I-70 with 4-6 inches south of I-70 and even less from Greensburg and points south. The snow was supposed to begin late morning to midday, but all that fell was rain, even well north of I-70. Locally, 0.21" of rain fell this morning. Temperatures hovered right around freezing until about noon, but then began to fall. The bulk of the moisture was gone at this point though. However, early this evening around 6pm, a slug of moisture moved into the area along with strong winds. Snow is very heavy and I anticipate we'll get a few inches of snow out of the storm. It will be difficult to measure though since it's blowing sideways. I anticipate the wind will blow the snow into some good drifts tonight. It's a much drier snow than last weekend's storm since temperatures have been in the low 20's for most of the evening and are currently in the upper teens as it continues to snow.

January 19, 2019 Winter Storm
I think this will be one of those winter storms that makes people say that weather forecasters don't have any idea what's going to happen. I disagree with that, but this is a storm that did not follow the forecast even 12 hours before it arrived.

So this first image is what was originally expected as far as snowfall even up to Friday evening, January 18.
