The coldest air of the season has settled in since the 2 inches of snow that fell on Saturday. In fact, today was our first sub-freezing high temperature of the season with a high of only 30.7. Since Saturday the 12th, we've had a a few more snow showers with a persistent light snow showers throughout the day on Tuesday the 12th and another light dusting overnight Wednesday. There were a few slick spots on the roads this morning even. A bit colder weather is on the way for this weekend, although it will be dry. A warm up is on the way for next week with highs in the low to mid 50's by Thanksgiving day.
A big weather story to watch is the lake effect snow event hitting the Buffalo area. Up to 6 feet of snow could fall in those areas where snow bands setup. I found a couple of live webcams in the Buffalo area and it is snowing pretty good. I'll have to compare them tomorrow. The pictures below were captured at 10:17pm ET.
